Who we are
Founded by opera singer, Shakira Tsindos, the idea for Your Music Department came about whilst peri teaching at a London school, and identifying some of the barriers that schools in the UK have whilst accessing the music curriculum.
Shakira is also the Managing Director of Workbox Music, a music teaching agency in London with over 50 exceptional music teachers. As Shakira has already build a successful teaching business providing over 8000 lessons for talented children and adults, and has a roster of experienced and talented teachers on hand… in 2024, Your Music Department was born.
Our Vision
It is our vision to place music departments into schools that no longer support a music curriculum or peripatetic music learning, ensuring zero cost and zero admin for our schools.
Our Mission
It is our mission to ensure every child across the UK has access to exceptional music education, by providing music staff and teachers the support, training and growth to aid the development of our students.

Rebecca started teaching for Workbox Music in 2021 and took on the position of Studio Coordinator in 2022. When she isn’t singing or teaching, Rebecca can be found rock climbing, admiring other people's dogs and cultivating her rather large indoor plant collection.
